Macie has a degree in Music Education from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. She has worked in professional musical theater as well as performed in operas and tv/film. She was a member of the Charlotte Symphony's Oratorio Singers. Macie has taught in classroom settings as well as privately and has seen many students come out of her lessons and continue their musical careers in the professional realm.
Macie has a desire to see all her students learn to love their musical journey and find their own voice and expression through music. She strives to bring the best out of each student, no matter what their age or ability. She loves to adapt her lessons to suit the individual students and enjoys working with students who need adaptions because of special needs.
Macie also has experience playing and singing in bands and led the worship music program at 360 Life Church in Manchester, United Kingdom. She currently lives and works in Roswell, GA but continues to teach students from all over the world via lessons on Skype.
My two sons (now aged 12 and 9) began piano lessons with Macie about nine months ago. They were both complete beginners in piano, but also, having not played any instrument before, they were total beginners at reading music. With Macie’s patient and competent teaching, they have both come a long way since then. Macie is bright, positive and encouraging in her teaching style, making her especially ideal for anyone who was nervous or shy about taking up lessons. She is committed and passionate about what she does, and that has a motivating effect on her pupils.
Macie is a brilliant teacher and so knowledgeable in what she does. She has lots of different voice training techniques and has taught me to expand my range with a few exercises in ways I have never been able to before. We have lots of fun in lessons and she is happy to work with whatever music interests you. She has a beautiful voice and can demonstrate what she teaches. Highly recommend!
